Researchers seek participants for quality of life study
September 03, 2026
Researchers at Worcester State University are seeking participants for a study into quality of life, social participation, and leisure participation for people with MS.
Interviews will be conducted virtually via Zoom and are expected to last 30-60 minutes. Participation requirements are:
Ages 18 to 65
Have a diagnosis of MS
Speak English fluently
Individuals will be able to sign up for the study via Google Forms or by emailing the student researcher. To participate, contact Isabella Donovan at
idonovan@worcester.edu
.
If the participant consents to being recorded, the interview will be video-recorded and audio-recorded using the Zoom application. The interview will be transcribed using the Zoom application.
Participants will provide their emails on the Google Form for communication and planning purposes. The Google Form will contain the times the researcher is available to conduct interviews and asks the participant to state their availability. The consent form will be sent to the participants via email once they fill out the Google Form and confirm a time and date for an interview. The consent form will then be reviewed and filled out by the participant and sent back to the researcher via email prior to the interview.
The researcher will download the consent forms and store them in a folder on a password-protected computer and deleted after data analysis occurs. The student researcher will delete participant emails from the password protected computer after interviews occur. The signed consent forms and data will be stored in a folder on a password protected computer. Data will be analyzed in Fall 2026 (September to December).
At the conclusion of the Fall 2026 semester, the student researcher will download the data and signed consent forms onto a flash drive and give it to the faculty advisor, Dr. Sarah DiMeo. The data and signed consent forms will then be deleted from the researcher's computer. Data will be securely stored for three years, after which it will be destroyed.
