Researchers seek people with MS for study
September 12, 2018
Researchers at King's College London are seeking people with lived experiences of multiple sclerosis to help inform research into the issues surrounding anxiety and uncertainty in MS. The research is focused on identifying the cognitive mechanisms that underpin and maintain anxiety surrounding illness uncertainty within MS.
Using patient and public involvement in research to help understand the views, needs, and priorities of patients, the researchers can ensure that the research is as useful, accessible and meaningful as possible while acting in the best interests of people with MS. Participants are invited to:
* Share their views and experiences,
* Offer advice on materials that will be used in the research (this will
be done through online ratings on images, words, and scenarios regarding
MS; and reviewing newly developed tasks), and
* Help ensure that the research is carried out in an ethical and respectful way.
Patients from all age groups, social, and cultural backgrounds are invited to join. All information will be kept anonymous and will not be seen by any persons outside of the direct research team.
