The Association of Fundraising Professionals Fort Lauderdale Chapter honored Traci Shur, director of philanthropy at MS Focus: the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation.

The event recognizes people in the community for their commitment to raising and donating funds. This year, the group chose Shur to receive its President's Award. Natalie Blake said, “We are extremely proud of Traci. She has and continues to make a huge impact on the lives of many. We are proud that she is part of our team.”

Each November, the association meets for National Philanthropy Day. This year, the occasion, held on Nov. 14, in the Mary Porter Riverview Ballroom of the Broward Center for the Performing Arts, provided the opportunity to recognize members of the community who demonstrated an outstanding commitment to leadership in philanthropy and volunteerism in Broward County, Fla. The event featured a luncheon and awards celebration honoring community champions for their unique contributions and dedication to nonprofit causes.

The Association of Fundraising Professionals Fort Lauderdale/Broward serves more people each year with a passion for philanthropy. Guided by an active board of fundraising professionals and community members, the chapter has more than 30 years of experience offering innovative educational programs that encourage ethical and effective fundraising practices.
