Cherie Binns has been a registered nurse since 1973. In 1994, she was diagnosed 
with MS, and received her MSCN certification nine years later. For the past 15 
years, Cherie has operated a home-based patient advocacy business helping 
people identify the questions to be asked of their healthcare team. She serves as 
a member of the MS Lived Experience Advisory Panel for MS Focus, and is 
the Patient Healthcare Liaison for the organization.
Joanne Fortunato is a retired computer technology teacher in Venice, Fla. 
Diagnosed in 2006, she uses technology to cope with the many difficulties that 
MS can present. She is a frequent contributor to MS Focus Magazine, using her 
technology education background to help others with MS. Contact Joanne at

Maggie Courier is a retired high school English and journalism teacher in 
Margate, Fla. Diagnosed with MS in 1998, Maggie worked in marketing for 
MS Focus before becoming a teacher. Currently, she leads the We Care, 
We Call program, and uses her communication and writing skills to  
volunteer and contribute to the MS Focus magazine.

Marissa A. Barrera is a multiple sclerosis certified specialist and medical 
speech-language pathologist. She serves as the assistant dean of Health  
Sciences at Yeshiva University’s Katz School of Science and Health. Her research 
focuses on neurocognitive function in neurologic disease, including multiple 
sclerosis, traumatic brain injury, and aphasia. She also serves as a clinical and 
legal consultant, and lectures on neurorehabilitation strategies in national and 
international settings.
Jaitrali Jhanjiharya had a successful career of more than 20 years in marketing, 
then saw a need and reinvented herself as a psychotherapist specializing in 
assisting individuals with autoimmune disease. With more than five years of 
experience in her new field, she brings a unique perspective to treating the mental 
effects of autoimmune conditions such as MS, lupus, and rheumatoid arthritis, 
drawing from personal experience with MS and Crohn's disease.
Tiffany Malone is the director of the John A. Schafer, MD Multiple Sclerosis 
Achievement Center and has been with the program since 2014.  She oversees 
the development of program curriculum and facilitation of activities and education 
to promote cognitive, physical, social, and emotional wellness for people living 
with multiple sclerosis and their loved ones.  She has a masters of Social Work 
and is an MS specialist and has partnered with various MS organizations to 
provide education to people living with multiple sclerosis across the globe.
