Dear Friends, Our spring issue has become one of my favorites as it features our MS Haiku Contest: Life With MS in 17 Syllables. You’ll find more details on page 7, including two new categories this year. If you are a support group leader, I encourage you to use MS haiku writing as a group activity at your next meeting. I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised by how therapeutic and enjoyable haiku writing can be! We received so many amazing entries last year and I truly look forward to reading your new poems this year. In this issue we also announce our new support group meeting flyer designs and the winners of our Spot the Sunshine Contest. You’ll also read about two inspiring support group leaders in Newport News, Va., and Cranston, R.I., who overcame obstacles and demonstrated continued dedication to building fun and effective MS support groups. I hope everyone is able to enjoy the sunshine and bright days ahead. I always feel motivated and heartened by the articles within these pages and hope that they have the same effect on all of you. Here’s to a brighter tomorrow for us all! Sincerely, Alissa Ayden Support Groups and Outreach Manager MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS FOUNDATION SUPPORT GROUP NEWS 6520 N.Andrews Ave., Fort Lauderdale, FL 33309 • 888-MSFOCUS (673-6287) • support@msfocus.org ® ®
