She serves as a member of the MS Lived Experience Advisory Panel for MS Focus, and is the Patient Healthcare Liaison for the organization.Joanne Fortunato is a retired computer technology teacher in Venice, Fla. Diagnosed in 2006, she uses technology to cope with the many difficulties that MS can present. Jaitrali Jhanjiharya had a successful career of more than 20 years in marketing, then saw a need and reinvented herself as a psychotherapist specializing in assisting individuals with autoimmune disease. With more than five years of experience in her new field, she brings a unique perspective to treating the mental effects of autoimmune conditions such as MS, lupus, and rheumatoid arthritis, drawing from personal experience with MS and Crohn's disease.Jodi Koehn-Pike is content development manager at the Caregiver Action Network where she manages communications and media relations, writing collateral and social media content. She was a long-distance caregiver for her dad with glioblastoma and her mom with Alzheimers. In her free time, she volunteers for several animal welfare organizations. Recently, along with several other animal lovers, she started her own nonprofit animal rescueA Home of Their Own Animal Rescue. She is an avid Kansas Jayhawk basketball and Wisconsin Badger football fan. Ben Thrower is the medical director of the Andrew C. Carlos MS Institute at Shepherd Center. He previously served as the medical director of the Holy Family Multiple Sclerosis Institute in Spokane, Wash. In Spokane, he was the chair of the Inland Northwest Chapter of the NMSS. In 2000, he was awarded the Norm Cohn Hope Chest Award by the National MS Society, recognizing his work with the MS community. In 2005, he was the first physician inductee into the Georgia Chapter of the National MS Society Volunteer Hall of Fame. Dr. Thrower has served the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation for many years as Senior Medical Advisor.Brad Willingham is the director of MS Research at Shepherd Center in Atlanta. He began his career in rehabilitation working as a clinical exercise physiologist, where he gained extensive experience in treating patients with MS and spinal cord injury.
