Since a MS exacerbation left her unable to work, she has concentrated on writing, including stories about her MS experience and several children’s books which she hopes to publish. She lives in Pennsylvania with her husband of 27 years; their two children are 21 and 18. Herresearch focuses on crucial connections between sleep disorders, the immune system, and neurological disorders, especially MS. TracyCarrascoisanoccupational therapist at the Orlando Healthy Multiple Sclerosis Comprehensive Care Center. In 2007, she became an MS certified specialist. Through speaking engagements, she educates healthcare professionals and clients. She is a member of the International Organization of Multiple Sclerosis Rehabilitation Therapists and has served as faculty at the CMSC since 2012. Joanne Fortunato is a retired computer technology teacher in Troy, N.Y. She has a master’s degree in education and has been teaching technology to teachers and students for 30 years. Laura Kolaczkowski of Beavercreek, Ohio, was diagnosed with MS in 2008. Since that time she has been involved in MS advocacy, particularlyempoweringothers with MS to participate more in their own healthcare relationships with providers and researchers.
